Welcome!

Time to start a crafting blog as that's what I've been up to lately. Soon I will post pictures of some of my recent creations!

The background? I've always loved crafts and all things crafty and I also love to cook and bake. My Mom is super crafty - can do anything - truly amazing. She had four kids and still managed to sew tons of clothes, decorate, reupholster furniture, paint, wallpaper, cook, clean, etc. Of course, even though I have only two kids she still had a lot more free time than me since she didn't have to worry about checking e-mail, reading craft blogs, 200 channels on satellite tv - life was way simpler then and people just had a lot more time. :)

As a kid I remember doing Latch Hook Kits to make pillows, rugs, etc. As well as other typical kid crafts. When I was about 10 or 12, my Grandma (also very crafty) came to visit along with her sister. The two taught me how to knit that summer. I really enjoyed that and made a blanket for my cat and a host of other things. Then in college Grandma taught me to crochet and I started a baby blanket for my niece (now 20), but never quite finished it. Actually I think Grandma finished it for me a few years before my oldest daughter was born. I also used to enjoy cross stitching and made a few birth announcements for my nieces. One is still not done, but no worries, my niece is only 10. :)

After college I took up ceramics - how I loved that! I went every Tuesday night with my friend Connie - it was so fun. I used to take things home each week and wake up extra early in the morning to glaze - then I'd bring boxes full of goodies to be fired. But after a while I ran out of room for all my creations, it started getting really expensive and Connie moved away so I stopped going. Then for a while life got in the way (work, then kids) and I didn't do much in the way of crafts other than a couple cake decorating courses. I took up scrapbooking after my oldest daughter was born in 2002. I have HEAPS of scrapbooking supplies but not much to show for it. I also dabbled in making cards. After it started to take over my dining room I packed it away upstairs, then moved on to Hair Bows! That's where this blog will start - with the hair bows.
